Well, I’ve got my G4 AGP, installed 10.3.5 on the second partition and the 1st partition is free space – For YellowDog Linux!
Unfortunately, at this time I cannot install YDL, because neither of the optical drives I have for the 400 AGP can boot properly the DVD I’ve burned the YDL install onto. BTW, I did verify the ISO and burn it successfully, but neither the internal or the external can boot it, it’s a DVD-RW and both the drives are DVD-ROM and CD-ROM only (I guess)
Although, the external Lite-On will mount the DVD on the desktop and the internal Matshita will not do so, but only half way in disk utility.
However! I have ordered a Pioneer DVR-118LBK from newegg.com and I’ll also install the patchburn utility from patchburn.de to make full use of it with Toast 6 Titanium and Jam! This Pioneer Drive I’ve ordered will also burn DL Disks, which I desperately need to back up my family pack 10.5 DVD, which is also DL DVD+R (I know this is getting nutty) That’s just the way it is with computers, and I know why people can become quite geeky about it all: You’ll always need to upgrade something, more often sooner than later.
I’ll get back on this install in about a week.
